An experienced financial services policy maker, helping clients develop policy and strategy for the modern regulatory environment

I am a huge financial services policy aficionado, so it’s pretty convenient that I’ve ended up at 56° North focusing on developing policy and strategy for clients in one of only two truly global financial centres.

Prior to joining 56°, I spent nearly five years at HM Treasury (HMT) working across the entire breadth of financial services sector policy.

My first HMT role was in retail banking policy, which included looking after current account, basic account, savings and competition policy. I then pivoted to international financial services policy and was responsible for the UK-EU financial services relationship, including the inaugural Joint EU-UK Financial Regulatory Forums, engagement with Member States, and the monitoring of specific developments in this field.

More recently, I led the consultation, analysis, strategy and policy development process for the government’s Financial Services Growth and Competitiveness Strategy. I’ve also acted as an interim Private Secretary to HMT’s Directors for Domestic and International Financial Services and the Economic Secretary to the Treasury and City Minister.

And… I’ve got a pet Tortoise that will have to be written into my will as it is going to outlive me.
