Understanding Scottish Business

Understanding Business is a quarterly survey which gathers and tracks the thoughts and opinions of businesses operating in Scotland today.

In conjunction with research firm The Diffley Partnership, the survey asks more than 500 businesses from all sectors and regions about the issues they’re facing.

From skills gaps and net zero targets to government sentiment and overall economic outlook, we gather as much information as we can about Scottish businesses’ challenges and opportunities.

The survey has provided enormous value since its inception in early 2023 and has generated significant interest from clients, MSPs and the media.
