Georgie Fulljames
Associate Consultant
A recent graduate of both the University of Edinburgh and 56’s summer internship programme looking to get stuck into client work and bring creative energy to the team
I joined team 56 in summer 2024 as an intern and am delighted to be returning as an associate consultant. It was especially exciting working over the general election period and following the political landscape so closely at such a dynamic time. Working with such a wide range of clients, from business to the third sector, has also been one of my favourite parts of the job. Every day at 56 is different; I’ve learnt so much and have had insights into so many different industries.
During my time as an associate consultant so far, I have particularly enjoyed getting stuck into more creative and research-based tasks. I’m driven by curiosity and I find that there’s nothing better than finding what you’ve been looking for after hours of searching!
Before joining 56, I studied politics at the University of Edinburgh, with a focus on contemporary political theory. I also spent a year living in Copenhagen, Denmark, where I studied, volunteered at the Copenhagen Democracy Summit and just generally enjoyed the Scandi lifestyle. Back in Edinburgh, my final year dissertation explored the commemoration of traumatic national pasts, which earned me two prizes in my graduating class. This love of ideas (even very dense ones!) definitely translates to my work at 56. I find it especially rewarding to cut through the noise and gain a deeper understanding of our fascinating, complex and sometimes messy political world.
And… I’m a Beatles superfan, and I’ve watched the eight-hour-long Get Back documentary three times (I’m a firm believer that George Harrison is the best Beatle).
